Welcome

Our goal at the Gymnastics Place is to teach the fundamentals of gymnastics to children in a fun, safe, and God honoring environment. Ou hope is that children will learn a love for getting physically fit and carry these skills into adulthood.

We utilize the Fun & Fit Gymnastics Program. With this program the student recieves a poster. Once a month they get stars for skills acquired during the month to go on the poster. There are up to 6 levels for students to pass.

We offer recreational classes for 2 1/2 year olds to Jr. High. We also have boys only classes.

The Gymnastics Place Mission Statement:

To teach the sport of gymnastics in such a way the student experiences God's love for them, and has fun in a safe environment.

As the owner of the Gymnastics Place, I have several goals. The first goal is that your child has fun while participating in my classes. Gola two is that I keep them as safe as possible. Goal three is that students get physically fit. The fourth is that gymnastic skills are learned. The reason for this order is if they don't have fun they will quit. If they get hurt they might quit. A physically fit child will get skills easier. When the first three goals are met the last one of learning skills will hopefully happen.

Safety is ver important to me.

One way of keeping students safe is that they are taught proper progressions. This can seem boring, but it is vital. Take a back hadspring for example. Lead up skills that a student needs to even atttempt a bhs are: handstand, forward and back roll, standing backbend, cartwheel. These basic skills are important for almost all tumbling. By doing these skills with the handstand being the most important good body conditioning happens and risk of injury can be reduced.

Another note on safety.

NO-ONE IS ALLOWED ON EQUIPMENT EXCEPT FOR REGISTERED STUDENTS, PARENTS WHO HAVE SIGNED WAIVERS, AND COACHES.

Let's talk about having fun for a minute.

I am very flexible with my classes but cannot tolerate children running wild and attempting skills that they are not ready to do. If during a class a student is being disruptive, actions will be taken as follows:

    1. No treat at the end of class
    2. Some type of exercise (ie. push-up)
    3. Sit in energy seat

Now let's talk about conditioning.

Coming to a class one time a week will not get your child in shape. Flexibility isn't attained in a few minutes a week. It is vital for your child's success in gymnastics that they are practicing and exercising at home. Now since my first goal is to have fun, I'm not talking about being a drill sergeant. A great way to motivate your child si to do the exercises that you are capable of doing safely with them. I am going to be testing students about every eight weeks on their strength and flexibility. I will have some kind of reward for improvement.

Payment is due by the 10th of the month.

If your child misses a class, full payment is still due. Make-up classes are available. We allow one make-up class per month. Always let us know ahead of time that your child will be making up a class. Full payment is due during the holiday season. Your tuition is based on a four week month, so it all works out since there are five weeks in some months.

I appreciate you allowing your child to take gymnastics from me. I take the very seriously. If you ever need to talk to me please never hesitate.

Thank you so much,

Angela Fulmer
